Colton played t-ball in the spring of 2007. He really enjoyed getting out and playing with the other kids. At times, though, it didn't seem as if he knew what to do.
During the first practice that we had, I happened to look over at Colton. He was standing on third base (like he was supposed to be doing), but he had his glove in the air, looking at an airplane that passed by while turning in circles. I couldn't help laughing.
As the season went on, he did get somewhat better, although he never quite go the idea of running to the bases. His "run" seemed more like a "saunter". The ball never really came his way often, but, like all the other kids, he would run to the ball. Colton would wait until someone else picked up the ball (the others usually got to the ball before he did) threw it to first before returning to where he was supposed to be.
The most frustrating thing about the season, though, was the fact that half the games were "canceled" due to weather (and a couple that were close to being called). Even some of the make up games at the end of the season got rained out. Colton had a lot of fun, though, and got some exercise, which is what the whole thing had been about anyway. I'm glad he got to play the games he did.
